An incense burner, or a bowl with a lid with holes through which the smoke from the incense (scented twisted sticks, sandalwood sticks, scented frankincense, scented spirals) passes, which will scent your home with a fragrance of your choice, suitable for meditation or relaxation.
This stand is ceramic with a metal lid.
Also included is an insulating pad that you place under the stand so that the heat when heated does not damage the furniture under the stand. The pad is velvety on one side so the stand does not slip and has a layer of insulation on the other side to prevent heat transfer. You will find it inside the stand, remove it and place it on the furniture with the velvet layer on top under the incense holder.
Inside the incense holder you can place fine sand, which also prevents the ceramic from heating up and is used in incense burners, also used to extinguish a lit incense or scent cone.
Then place the smouldering incense on top of the sand inside the incense holder, in our range you will find scented cones (Francis) as well as scented sticks, scented real sandalwood sticks which fit perfectly in this incense holder) and the very popular scented spirals which have a burn time of up to 4 hours and can be found in our range on sale in many scents.
Stick the smouldering incense into the sand and close the lid. You can also use a metal scented spiral stand instead of sand (if you use scented spirals instead of straight sticks).
The smoke will slowly come out through the holes of the ceramic stand and you can meditate or just relax at this point.
In Feng Shui, many ritual ceremonies are performed in this way to purify the house and remove negative energies. It is especially important wherever we want to cleanse a space and induce new positive energy.
Scented sticks have been used in Eastern countries since time immemorial, especially for meditation, relaxation and bringing the body and mind into the harmony needed for prayers.
The first records of the use of incense sticks appear in ancient China, where they were part of Buddhist rituals. In India, too, scented ones are an essential part of religious ceremonies.
Here in Europe, sticks are mainly used for relaxation, scenting rooms as a diffuser, also to induce relaxation, through aromatherapy treatment but also in religious spiritual meditations and relaxation.
However, this ceramic incense burner may not only be used for scented incense, but due to its eye-catching appearance, it can also be used as an oriental treasure box, a jewellery box, a bowl for Arabic sweets, a bowl for precious stones, a sugar bowl, a decorative bowl for oils in aromatherapy, or when used with sand, it is a great bowl for storing and extinguishing the health warming sticks called Moxa, which are used in a healing technique called Su-Jok.
