Garba is an Indian folk dance, originally from Gujarat (Gujarat). It is a circular dance to celebrate the goddess Jagadamba. They dance in concentric circles around the goddess symbol or around a perforated clay pot with an oil lamp inside or by candlelight. Celebratory songs are sung at the dance. Originally, this dance was performed only by women, today they are also danced by men. The dance is danced with special Dandies wands (also Dandiya). Sometimes mallets and clapping are combined. Every year, these dances are danced in Gujarut at the famous Navratri festival.
Watch the video of how the dance dances and you will definitely want to try the dance as well. With our original Dandies drumsticks made in India specifically for this type of dance, it will work for you!
The mallets are hand-carved and painted. They have a piercing sound.
