The Bagua (also Pa-kua) mirror and eight-armed Triagram is a very useful and powerful remedy in Feng Shui and has been used extensively since the Song Dynasty, (i.e. from 960-1279). It has become such a common tool because it is a cheap, easy to use and very powerful protective talisman that repels all harmful energies from outside and also protects you from impure intentions from your surroundings.

The Bagua amulet consists of three lines, one of which is either complete or broken, representing yin or yang. Yin-Yang is the basic Chinese understanding of how things work.
